About the country

Cooter’s Country Store began in 2006, when Edward Williams, DJ Karavan, and Mark Lazarus found a great place between Conway and Georgetown on the Black River to open a fun, country store.  Since that time, they opened two more country stores—one on highway 17 in Georgetown and one on highway 707 in Myrtle Beach.  Cooters Country Stores are a great place to stop, gas up, and grab a bite to eat.  Featuring home-cooked meals, the occasional Friday fish fries, and the coldest beer cave in town, Cooters Country Stores are the places to stop for smiling, friendly faces on the way to where you’re going!
Shortly after opening Cooters Country Stores, business partners, Ed Williams and DJ Karavan, opened the first Cooters Backyard Bar and Grill in Murrells Inlet in 2008.  Known for its fun & friendly atmosphere, Cooters Backyard Bar and Grill is a place to bring in the whole family for games, wii, music, great food, and the best “backyard” around!
